A NEW SOLUTION FOR PRIMARY HYPERHIDROSIS

Saalio® is a modern therapeutic device for tap water iontophoresis suited to the professional setting of hospitals and clinics as well as use-at-home.

Designed with safety at it's core to handle a live electric current making it a user friendly medical device.

The Device

Built to last while promoting safe and ergonomic use, the Saalio Iontophoresis device is the go-to model for tackling primary hyperhidrosis.

The Accessories

Unlike its competitorss, Saalio accessories for tackling treatment on areas other than hands and feet have a unique feature. An incorporated layer of graphite fibre, ensuring a more even current distribution across the skin area you are treating.

SAFETY FEATURES

The Saalio device uses a number of safety features in order to keep users as safe and secure as possible.

Breathable storage bag keeps excess moisture from damaging or spoiling the device.

The Saalio Iontophoresis device is a CE marked Class IIa medical device - a European certification created to ensure the machine conforms to international standards, providing a level of safety and durability that guarentees long-term customer satisfaction.

The Saalio device has a linear current ramp-up feature installed. This ensures that a user isn't immediately subjected to the maximum current the machine produces. Instead, once the machine detects that it is in use, the current will slowly increase in a linear fashion, allowing for a safer and more comfortable experience.

The device uses silicone rather than the more traditional metal electrodes to avoid electrolytic dissolution of metal ions into the water.

Finally, the machine will detect any short circuit (when a container or accessory is no longer in contact with the patient's skin) and immediately begin reducing the current intensity down to zero, allowing users to avoid accidents and sudden electric shocks.

EASE OF USE

The device and all it's accessories are ergonomically shaped, making it comfortable to use, avoiding any sharp edges and reducing discomfort.

The smooth finish to the device and accessories make it easy to clean and maintain. The bag that holds the Saalio is breathable, allowing any excess or trapped moisture to evaporate quickly, reducing unpleasant smells.

What is Hyperhidrosis?

Hyperhidrosis is a medical condition characterised by excessive sweating beyond what is necessary to regulate body temperature. People with hyperhidrosis may sweat profusely even when the body doesn't need cooling. This condition can affect various parts of the body, including the palms, feet, underarms, and face.

There are two main types of hyperhidrosis these are:

Primary (focal or idiopathic) hyperhidrosis

This type typically affects specific areas of the body, such as the palms, soles of the feet, underarms, and face. It usually begins during childhood or adolescence and may have a genetic component.

Secondary (generalized) hyperhidrosis

This type is less common and usually involves excessive sweating throughout the entire body. It can be caused by underlying medical conditions such as diabetes, menopause, thyroid problems, or certain medications.

Hyperhidrosis can be socially and emotionally distressing, impacting a person's quality of life and self-esteem. Treatment options include clinical strength antiperspirants, medications, iontophoresis (a procedure that uses electrical currents to block sweat glands temporarily), botulinum toxin injections (Botox®), and in rare cases, surgery to remove or deactivate the sweat glands.

Does Saalio have a warranty?

A 4 year warranty is available on the Saalio device. Please note that this warranty does not extend to the foam inserts and sponge pouches.

I have a metal implant or plate, can I have iontophoresis treatment?

If the metal implant is not in the path of the current or in the immediate treatment area then there is no problem having iontophoresis treatment. For example, if the implant was in your leg and you were treating your hands, the current is not going to pass through your legs, so there is no problem. You would not however be able to treat your feet, as this would be a contra-indication. All jewellery around the areas of treatment must be removed.

For more information please contact us.

How many treatment sessions will I need?

In the initial phases, treatment is undertaken daily or four times per week to get sweating under control.

Maintenance treatments are then required as soon as you start to feel the sweating return which is most often once per week.

Does iontophoresis treatment work if I have soft water in my area?

Research suggests that treatment using tap water alone yields a success rate of 85% for the hands and feet and 70% for the underarms. Iontophoresis treatment is more successful using hard water. Bottled water with a high mineral content is also a good option to use, instead of tap water from soft water areas.
